it's a battle

God is so good! God is so good! God is so good, He's so good to me.

You have been so good to me. You have been so good to me.
I came here broken... You made me whole, You have been so good...
I came here mourning... You gave me joy, You have been so good...
You have been so good!
You have been so good to me!

I will extol the Lord at all times;
His praise will always be on my lips...
Glorify the Lord with me!
Let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord and He answered me!
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
He saved him out of all his troubles.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and His ears are attentive to their cry...
The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them;
He deliveres them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The Lord redeems His servants;
No one will be condemned who takes refuge in Him!
-Portions of Psalm 34... (the Psalm of the week!)

I am so overwhelmed by the power and goodness and faithfulness of God. The past few weeks have been really difficult for me, I have slacked off in my quiet time due to my anger at my circumstances and my frustration with the future, yet God has shown Himself to me in a mighty way. He is doing a good work, and I say a good work here at Olivet Nazarene University, especially in the incredible Parrott building! I am so amazed at the stories and the struggles and the triumphs of the ladies around me. I feel so blessed to be in such a place just to share with girls and I am continually overwhelmed and excited by what God is doing. My girls reminded me tonight that God is faithful... we encouraged each other to keep fixing our eyes on Him. I can't say much more except that God is really moving here and I yearn for prayers. This whole walking with the Lord thing is a battle. It really is... and I'm fighting hard and it's hurting, but it's paying off. Pray for me. Pray for the women at Olivet. God is good. God is moving. May we be overwhelmed by Him, cultivate a deep desire for Him, may we not be discouraged and give up, and may we be consistent in our daily quiet times so that we can win this battle that is raging on our campus.

We do not lose heart! Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
